Boyzone Stephen Gately funeral Saturday

Author: admin

Boyzone    Post-mortem results announced on Tuesday concluded that Gately had died from natural causes, and a judge said his body could now be returned home from Majorca.

The Irish singer was found dead on Saturday on the sofa in his apartment in Port Andratx on the island after a night out with his ‘husband’ Andrew Cowles.

Gately was born and bred in the Sheriff Street area of Dublin and his funeral is being planned for St Laurence O’Toole’s Church.

Lawyer Gerald Kean, a spokesman for Gately’s family in Ireland, said: “The family are pleased that the post-mortem has been completed. They are pleased that the results of the post mortem indicate exactly what they said all along, that Stephen died as a result of natural causes.

“They would like to thank the authorities in Spain and Ireland for doing everything in their power to complete formalities as quickly as possible to get Stephen’s body home.”

Mr Kean said the family was planning the funeral to take place at noon on Saturday.

A court official in Majorica said the singer suffered a pulmonary oedema, an accumulation of fluid on the lungs. The underlying cause was not revealed.

Louis Walsh, the X Factor judge and Boyzone’s manager, has paid tribute to Gately.

”We’re all in shock. Nobody can believe it – the guys, me, nobody. We are in shock,” he said.

Walsh, who put Boyzone together in the mid-1990s, was with Gately and the rest of the band last week in London to discuss the final 10 tracks for the comeback album.

He said he had never seen the 33-year-old West End star in better health or better form.

”The boys are devastated. It’s like they have lost their very, very best friend, and me too,” Walsh said. ”His best friend was his sister Michelle – I don’t know how she is coping.

”The boys are like his family now. The four boys where like four daddies for him.”

Speaking of Gately’s upbringing in Dublin, he said: “He came from Sheriff Street. He was a very working class kid. All he wanted to do was sing and go to the West End and he loved Disney, that was Stephen.

”Of all the people I’ve worked with I don’t think anybody thanked me as much as Stephen. He used to always say to me ‘if I wasn’t in Boyzone I don’t know where I’d be today, thank-you’. A great, great, great professional kid.”

Walsh and the remaining Boyzone bandmates have been in close contact over the last few days. They are expected to gather together for the funeral.

Mika Moron

51906421  Pop star Mika has been slammed by a crime prevention organisation for joking about shoplifting and has been labled “irresponsible”.

Contactmusic.com reports, that the singer admitted in a recent interview that he has previously taken goods without paying in stores, but “just the small stuff like toys or pick ‘n’ mix (sweets).”

But the comments have been met with condemnations by Crimestoppers, which has branded the star “irresponsible”.

“Comments appearing to condone shoplifting in any context are wrong,” said a spokesperson.

Mika isn’t the only star to admit to stealing. Last week Megan Fox revealed that as a teenager, she was convicted of taking cosmetics from US superstore Wal-Mart.

Avril Lavigne Dumps Deryck Whibley

Author: admin

avril-lavigne   Has Avril Lavigne uncomplicated her life and dumped Deryck Whibley?

Avril Lavigne doesn’t think her husband is so damn hot any more, according to Us Weekly. In the latest issue, the mag reports that the pop-punk princess has kicked Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley to the curb. Lavigne, 25, reportedly told Whibley to move out of their $9.5-million, 12,000-square-feet mansion in L.A.

“She dumped him and told him she was leaving him,” an insider told Us. “She wants to move on.”

Rumours of the split have been circulating for months.

In late August, Lavigne was spotted partying sans Whibley in Southampton, enjoying the company of several male admirers — apparently a sign of things to come.

Us Weekly’s source claims the filing of divorce papers is imminent and that Whibley is “crushed.” He and Lavigne married in 2006 after two years of dating.

And Prince Michael Malachi Jackson, who hails from San Francisco, California, wants to take a DNA test to prove it. Colbie Caillat Breakthrough

Author: admin

colbie-caillat    Colbie Caillat found platinum success with her very first CD — and it paralyzed her when it came to writing her sophomore album.

Caillat had one of the more popular hits of 2007 with the dreamy song “Bubbly,” off her debut album “Coco.” The ubiquitous song had her so in demand she went from opening for acts like John Mayer to headlining shows, and writing with sensations like Taylor Swift.

Life got so hectic for the 24-year-old that she experienced writer’s block. She was so busy touring she felt like had no time to actually live life and experience real emotions to write about.

So she went away with “American Idol” judge and songwriter Kara DioGuardi to brainstorm for new material, and ended up talking about relationships and heartbreak — just the kind of inspiration Caillat needed for her new CD, “The Breakthrough,” which is out this week. The album’s title not only represents breaking her creative impasse, but accomplishing other goals as well.

Michael Jackson used e-mail to buy drugs

Author: admin

michael-jackson   Police believe Michael Jackson used secret email accounts to buy prescription drugs.

Detectives in Los Angeles have recently discovered the late pop legend had accessed AOL and Gmail accounts in the run up to his death in June from a suspected cardiac arrest and plan to search his personal messages for evidence he used them to acquire medicines illegally.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘They could hold vital evidence with regard to Michael’s death and the drugs he was using regularly. Not only did he get prescription drugs through a network of doctors, it’s believed he may also have got them from illegal websites or drug cartels. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has to get a search warrant first and this takes a few days.’

Police are also keen to search a private mobile phone belonging to the ‘Thriller’ singer.

Since his death, it has emerged Michael had been prescribed a number of drugs – including the powerful sedative Propofol, also known as Diprivan – by a number of doctors.

His personal physician Dr. Conrad is being investigated over manslaughter claims.

Meanwhile, medical expert Dr. Susan Etok has claimed she was asked by the ‘King of Pop’ to prescribe him Diprivan and discovered a secret stash of drugs in his bathroom – which she took a sample of and gave to police.

She said: ‘Alarm bells went off in my head and I knew I needed to get out of there right away.

“There was a just a whole bunch, like a box with stacks of different medicines. And I took just a sample of those just to see what they were. There were just so many, and just paraphernalia such as syringes, tourniquets and surgical gloves and masks.

‘It was just crazy. At the time I didn’t really know what they were. I was just really shocked. There was just so much medication, just like looking into a pharmacy, and I thought, ‘What is he doing with all of this?’ So I took some of these medications and I took them home and I looked them up and I asked family members, and I found out that they were anti-depressants and things like that, and I just thought no, this is not right.”

Dr. Etok claims to have met with the singer on March 6 at London’s Lanesborough Hotel.

She told website ET Online: ‘He was upset about the fact the British media were very harsh on him, and how he was hurting. He kept on talking about how much he was hurting. I wasn’t sure whether it was emotional pain or whether it was physical pain, and he said he needed me to help him.’

Meanwhile, Michael’s mother Katherine – who has guardianship of his three children, 12-year-old Prince Michael I, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’ – is looking at sending the grieving trio to school.

The children have been taught at home their whole lives, but their grandmother is making enquiries into Los Angeles’ prestigious Buckley school, which is near the family home in Encino.

The children and Katherine spent the weekend at the luxury Palms Casino Resort in Los Angeles.

Dion and her husband René Angélil only learned the good news Monday and, according to the spokeswoman, “Céline and René are full of joy.”

Last year, Dion returned with her first world tour in several years and it was one of the year’s top-grossing tours, ringing up $237 million at the cash register.

Jackson’s doctor bought anesthetic in Vegas

Author: admin

The potent anesthetic that Michael Jackson’s doctor gave him as a sleep aid came from a Las Vegas pharmacy searched Tuesday by federal drug agents and police, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.

Authorities are investigating Jackson’s June 25 death as a manslaughter and believe the anesthetic propofol he was given at his rented Los Angeles mansion was a major factor. Propofol normally is used to render patients unconscious for medical procedures and only is supposed to be administered by anesthesia professionals in medical settings.

As investigators build their case, a central issue is what drugs were in Jackson’s system when he died and how those medications were obtained. Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is the focus of the investigation. He has told investigators he administered propofol and multiple sedatives to Jackson in the hours before he died, the law enforcement official told The Associated Press.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Los Angeles and Las Vegas police and Drug Enforcement Administration agents served a sealed search warrant Tuesday morning at Applied Pharmacy Services in Las Vegas, which the official said legally sold propofol to Murray. Investigators discovered large amounts of the drug and other medications in Jackson’s home after his death. DEA agents were able to track the anesthetic back to the Las Vegas pharmacy.

Through a spokeswoman, Murray’s attorney Edward Chernoff said he had not seen the warrant and had no immediate comment.

Murray has talked to detectives but has not spoken publicly since Jackson died. Chernoff has said Murray gave Jackson nothing that “should have” killed him and specifically said the physician did not give Jackson the narcotic painkillers Demerol or OxyContin.

The cause of death for Jackson and details about what was in his system will be revealed in the final autopsy report prepared by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. It announced Monday that it has completed its work but won’t release findings while the police investigation is ongoing.

Weeks ago authorities served search warrants at Murray’s Las Vegas home and his businesses in Las Vegas and Houston, where they seized computer hard drives, medical equipment invoices, phone records and other items. Officials also sought evidence pertaining to the purchase of propofol in those warrants.

Investigators also are looking into Jackson’s interactions with at least six other doctors, court documents show.

Michael Flanagan, assistant special agent in charge of the DEA in Las Vegas, said Tuesday’s warrant was issued without incident at the single-story business in a strip mall with several other medical services and insurance offices on Flamingo Road, several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

The pharmacy staff was cooperative, he said, adding that authorities were searching for any and all paper documents and electronic records. He declined to provide any details.

Tuesday’s warrant remained sealed, and Clark County District Court spokesman Michael Sommermeyer said he had no information when it was issued or which judge signed it.

Investigators could take up to 10 days to submit documentation about what they sought and what was obtained. That information became available three days after authorities served warrants at Murray’s home and office on July 28.

A woman who answered the phone at Applied Pharmacy Services after agents left refused to identify herself and declined to comment on behalf of the store and its owner.

A telephone voicemail message said Murray’s Nevada medical practice, Global Cardiovascular Associates, was “temporarily” closed, effective Tuesday.

Michael Jackson’s Last Moments

Author: admin

michael-jacks     The pop legend, who passed away on June 25 after suffering a cardiac arrest, was desperate to see his father, Joe Jackson, as he was convinced his aides weren’t looking after his finances and wanted to call off his 50 comeback shows in London.

Jackson’s biographer, Ian Halperin, said: ‘He got in a shouting match about finances. That was when Michael said he was calling off the tour. He said some advisers didn’t care about his welfare. I’ve been told he was crying. He demanded an aide call his father. He said his father was the only person who could ‘clean up the mess.’

Ian also claims the 50-year-old star spent his final 12 hours writing frightening poetry while in a drug-induced breakdown at the Los Angeles mansion he had been staying at.

‘He was as high as a kite. What he wrote was dark, sort of frightening. The poems were found, hanging in his room on strings. He was over the edge. Michael was cracking up. He had been injecting himself for over 12 hours, he said for excruciating pain. He begged to see his father but was told they couldn’t get hold of him. If Joe Jackson had seen him that night, I believe Michael would still be alive’, claims Halperin

He alleges when Jackson was refused, he ordered his physician Dr. Conrad Murray to give him drugs to ‘put him out’. I don’t think Jackson meant permanently…
