Lady Gaga may be best known for her gaudy outfits and over-the-top stage shows, but at her hometown headlining debut at Madison Square Garden last night (July 6), the pop phenomenon proved she’s a regular girl at heart.

John Butler Trio put place and time aside during a 13-song SummerStage set that was packed with acoustic numbers, jam sessions and fan favorites.

You didn’t have to be a theater dork (guilty) to get into last night’s 64th Annual Tony Awards. But it DID help to be a Gleek. “Glee” stars Lea Michele, known for her Broadway breakthrough in “Spring Awakening,” and Matthew Morrison, whose Broadway credits include “The Light in the Piazza” and “Hairspray,” didn’t just attend the Tonys. They performed showstoppers to a Tony crowd that included Broadway’s top brass and Hollywood royalty such as Scarlett Johansson, Denzel Washington and Will Smith. Plus, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Basically, it was Rachel Berry’s dream come true.

+ Check out the 5 “Glee”-est moments of the 2010 Tony Awards.

1.) Lea Michele Hits The Red Carpet: Lea Michele hits the Tonys red carpet in a bright yellow Zac Posen gown, officially proving that there is NO color Lea Michele can’t pull off.

2.) Matthew Morrison Performs “All I Need Is The Girl” Shue performs “All I Need Is The Girl” from “Gypsy,” pulls off some dance moves Mike Chang would be proud of, and treats the audience to an open shirt. Huzzah!

3.) Lea Michele Takes A Seat … On Jonathan Groff’s Lap: One of New Dimensions’ signature moves is the Enter Through The Exit, which is exactly how Lea Michele started her performance of “Don’t Rain On My Parade from “Funny Girl.” She landed right in Jonathan Groff’s lap. Wouldn’t they make the cutest couple? Oh wait …

4.) Lea Michele Does Her Best Barbra Streisand: Lea Michele channels Rachel Berry channeling Barbra Streisand through and through. Right down to the white dress. If her performance of the key song from “Funny Girl” doesn’t nab her the lead in the show’s revival, then nothing will.

5.) Lea Michele Meets Ricky Martin! Would they make the cutest couple? Oh … wait. Still, is a Lea Michele/Ricky Martin photo opp a subliminal message that an all-Ricky Martin episode of “Glee” is on top for Season 3? Ryan Murphy, are you reading this?

Jay-Z ran the farm in Manchester, Tenn. last night running through a blazing 90-minute set on the main stage of Bonnaroo, redeeming Kanye West’s 2008 sunrise special and hip-hop’s checkered festival past.

Damian “Junior Gong” Marley and Nas brought “Distant Relatives” to Tennessee, Kings of Leon ruled the mainstage and the National put another exclamation point what is quickly becoming the band’s best summer yet, but Conan stole the show.

Alberta Cross showed impressive stage polish and maturity during their June 2 show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, one of four remaining stops on the band’s first headlining U.S. tour.

You THOUGHT that Christina Aguilera’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards medley performance of “Bionic,” “Not Myself Tonight” and “Woohoo,” from her upcoming Bionic album, was all about her still-ill “I-I’m-a-diva” vocals, frenzied stage show, and adult-only innuendo. And you were right. And then this happened.

SURPRISE! This is so just Christina Aguilera’s way of saying she loves you! And that the diminutive diva still has a sense of humor. After all, why else would she STICK A LIGHT-UP HEART RIGHT UP ON HER “WOOHOO”??? It’s like a little knowing wink that assures you that when she’s not changing diapers and doing mommy stuff, Mamaguilera’s hanging out at dance party sex dungeons and wailing from the bottom of her… light-up hoo-ha. She is DEFINITELY not the same girl who once bopped around the Disney Channel in a Scrunchie.

+ Watch Christina Aguilera “light up” the 2010 MTV Movie Awards with her performance of “Bionic,” “Not Myself Tonight” and “Woohoo.” And watch Christina Aguilera, in her Versace Atelier dress, dedicate her performance to her fans on the Movie Awards red carpet.

+ Taylor Swift will hold a 13-hour meet and greet with her fans. The event will take place in Nashville on June 13, in conjunction with the CMA Awards. Is she going for a record or something?  (LimeLife)

+ Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg have a smash hit on their hands with “California Gurls.” According to Perry, when she first met the Doggfather, she likened him to “the smoke monster from ‘Lost.’ ” Whatever could she mean? (TheFabLife)

+ Miranda Cosgrove is taking a break from promoting her solo album, Sparks Fly, to return to “iCarly.” The Nick show returns June 4 with a special episode called “iPsycho.” (JustJaredJr)

+ Paula Abdul will take home the “Always Next, Forever Now” icon award at the NewNowNext Awards. The show airs June 17 on Logo. Straight up! (NewNowNext)

In his Academy Award-winning film, The Hurt Locker, Jeremy Renner plays Sgt. William James, a brash, brave bomb technician, living on the edge in war-torn Iraq.

As he learns in The Hurt Locker, bombs are pretty volatile. But nothing compares to the volatility of a disrespected Justin Bieber. And that’s exactly what he has on his hands in this new promo for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

The clip features Renner, the upcoming show’s host, Aziz Ansari and Justin Bieber. Ansari and the “Baby” singer are enjoying a live and in person rendition of The Hurt Locker. But when Renner becomes distracted by Bieber’s chip-chomping, all hell breaks loose.

Check out the promo below. And watch the 2010 MTV Movie Awards are June 6th at 9pm!

After a long series of delays, Dr. Dre’s comeback album Detox is “definitely” arriving in 2010, the producer told CNBC during another round of promotion for his Beats By Dre headphones. As Rolling Stone reported yesterday, Dr. Dre and Interscope exec Jimmy Iovine revealed that Dre’s new single “Under Pressure” with Jay-Z will be coming soon. “Hopefully, we’ll be releasing ['Under Pressure'] in the next two weeks or so, and I’m definitely gonna be putting the album out this year, finally. I think everyone is gonna be happy with it,” Dre told CNBC (via Nah Right). “I’m just trying to finish this record, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it.”

Dr. Dre has been tinkering with Detox for the better part of the last decade, earning the album a reputation as hip-hop’s Chinese Democracy. In June 2008, Dre’s protégé Snoop Dogg revealed Dre had finished work on Detox, and the album was slated for a winter 2008 release. Still, Detox never came, nor did it arrive during Aftermath’s promised one-two punch of Detox and Eminem’s Relapse (Slim Shady delivered on his part of the deal, however). Early 2009 brought a pair of leaked songs reportedly destined for Detox. If the rumors are true, seemingly every single major rapper — Snoop, Eminem, T.I., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Nas, even newcomer Drake — will appear on Dre’s comeback album.

Dre’s proclamation that “Under Pressure” will be released in the “next two weeks or so” is sparking rumors that Jay-Z may debut the track live during his headlining set at the Coachella festival in Indio, California on April 16th. The fest is a short drive from Dre’s native Los Angeles, so it’s plausible the Doctor will head out to the desert for a surprise appearance. We’ll find out a week from this Friday when Rolling Stone heads to Coachella for a full report.
