Can’t get enough of Lady Gaga? Yeah, me neither. That’s why I’m counting down the days until the video for Gagaloo’s duet with Beyonce—or “Sasha Fierce,” if you’re nasty. In order to tide me and the rest of my fellow monsters over, I thought it’d be fun to try and imagine what it’s like to be in Gaga’s brain … Scary, I know.

What do you think Lady Gaga is thinking in the above still from the “Telephone” video? I’ll get you started with a couple ideas:

1. “I really need to update my Bluetooth headset.”
2. “Finally—a chance for me to show off my plate-carrying skills. All the years spent waiting tables and refilling endless breadsticks at the Olive Garden truly prepared me for this moment.”
3. “Will someone come over here and straighten my chef’s hat? Geez… I’m surrounded by amateurs.”
4. “I wonder what Elton John is doing right now.”
5. “Did I remember to turn my ringer off?”

Now it’s your turn. Leave your funniest/best/weirdest comment below and see if you can’t achieve a little caption “Fame.”

Female artists dominated the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift leading the charge at last night’s ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The I Am … Sasha Fierce singer tallied the most awards, scooping up six trophies — the most ever for a female artist on a single Grammy night — most notably Song of the Year and Best R&B Song for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Halo.” Swift took home the show’s biggest honor, however, nabbing Album of the Year for 2009’s best-selling LP, Fearless. At 20, Swift is now the youngest musician to win Album of the Year; she won four awards overall, including Best Country Album (also Fearless), Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance (both “White Horse”).

Look back at the 2010 Grammys’ biggest moments in photos.

Lady Gaga, who opened the show with a powerhouse duet with Elton John, won a pair of awards — Best Dance Album for The Fame and Best Electronica/Dance Song for “Poker Face” — but both were announced during a pre-telecast ceremony. Kings of Leon grabbed three awards, all revolving around their hit “Use Somebody,” Jay-Z scored three trophies for singles (his Blueprint 3 wasn’t eligible this year) and the Black Eyed Peas also won three Grammys, including Best Pop Vocal Album for The E.N.D.

Green Day followed up a memorable performance of “21 Guns” with the American Idiot musical cast by winning Best Rock Album for 21st Century Breakdown. In awards handed out before the broadcast, Bruce Springsteen’s “Working on a Dream” was named Best Solo Rock Performance, Jeff Beck took Best Rock Instrumental Performance for “A Day in the Life,” the Beatles scored Best Long Form Video and French electronic pop group Phoenix pulled out a surprise victory in the Best Alternative Album category with Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Check out the winners list here.

The Grammys are known for its high-wattage performances as much as their hardware, and last night’s show was packed with big-name team-ups. Lady Gaga got the party started with “Poker Face” before taking a seat at her piano (adorned with mannequin limbs frozen into Gaga’s monster claw) and facing off against Elton John on her “Speechless” and his “Your Song.” Beyoncé and a SWAT team of dancers mashed up the I Am… Sasha Fierce hit “If I Were a Boy” with Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.” Pink spun from the ceiling, soaking wet, during an acrobatic performance of “Glitter in the Air.” And Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake and Travis Barker kept the censors on their toes with a profanity-laced medley of Rebirth’s “Drop the World” and the hit “Forever.”

The ceremony also included a 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Carrie Underwood singing along with the King of Pop’s “Earth Song.” Jackson’s two eldest children, Prince and Paris, accepted their father’s posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award in one of the night’s most touching moments. Jeff Beck led a special Les Paul tribute while Jamie Foxx’s “Blame It” merged T-Pain, opera, Doug E Fresh and Slash performing the “November Rain” solo into one strange performance. Stevie Nicks joined Taylor Swift to duet on “Rihannon” and “You Belong With Me” in one of the few performances that felt out-of-sync. And even though the Dave Matthews Band were shut out of any Grammy wins, the group broke out a full choir, horns and string section for a strong rendition of “You & Me.”

The winners of the 52nd annual Grammy Awards Sunday were a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll and a diva put a ring on the whole night.

+ Yesterday we mentioned that Quincy Jones was corralling the likes of Bieber, Cyrus and Will Smith for a “We Are The World” re-make to aid Haitian relief efforts. Not to be outdone, Simon Cowell is putting together his own all-star Haiti benefit single, “Everybody Hurts,” (yes, R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts“…see bottom of post to refresh your memory) reportedly featuring Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey and Jon Bon Jovi. Yesterday we took a look at Buzzworthy’s #5 and #4 Top Videos of 2009 — Katy Perry’s ‘Waking Up In Vegas” at 5 and Fall Out Boy’s “What A Catch, Donnie” at #4. Today, my #3 Top Video Of 2009 goes to a woman whom no best-of list would be complete without. Beyonce.

+ Number 3: Beyonce, “Sweet Dreams”
Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams” video, directed by Adria Petty, isn’t just another high-fashion look at Beyonce, though there are direction allusions to designer Gareth Pugh’s Autumn/Winter 2009 video presentation. But beyond Beyonce’s designer wardrobe, “Sweet Dreams” picks up where the “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” video left off. It’s the dark yin to the brighter, lighter fare of “Single Ladies.” This is a 360-degree look at Beyonce’s life: Beyonce the woman, Sasha Fierce the performer, and the powerful force that occupies the spaces in between. Beyonce goes to sleep as Beyonce, turns into Sasha Fierce, and emerges as da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, only a woman. Woven throughout the “Sweet Dreams” video are darker shades of the occult and stranglehold of mind control. Like I said — definitely not just a fashion video.

The year 2009 was a banner one for fashion-forward music videos. The last 12 months have been dominated by aggressive, progressive, unbelievably stylish divas, hipsters, rappers, glam rockers and rebels.

At the top of the list would have to be Lady Gaga and Rihanna, both of whom catapulted themselves into the upper atmosphere of pop culture stardom, bordering on iconic status.

With their daring combos of hot and haute couture and brave filmmaking, they released a series of videos that combined catwalk-ready fashion with cinematic craftsmanship. Ri-Ri’s “Hard” and Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance” simply dazzled.

Take a look at those year-defining vids, as well as other fashionable clips from the likes of Jay-Z (“Run This Town”), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (“Heads Will Roll”), Beyonce (“Videophone“), Shakira (“She Wolf“) and more in our Best of 2009: Fashion Forward video playlist below.

Taylor Swift and Beyonce will perform at the Grammy Awards next month.

Stories about celebrities trashing their hotel rooms, making absurd demands on waiters, and generally acting like enormous babies are… well… often true. But not in Beyonce’s case. When Beyonce and Jay-Z ate at New York restaurant Marea last night, Beyonce left a sweet little surprise behind when she was done — a cute little reindeer on her plate, made of out… whatever it was she ate that was red and yellow and green. Adorable, right? I can’t even draw that well, yet Beyonce made this out of food.

Beyonce’s Mother Tina Knowles Files for Divorce

Author: webc

Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, has filed for divorce from the pop diva’s father and manager, Mathew Knowles.

  • Sonic Youth will return to the studio in 2010 to put their 17th studio album to tape. Guitarist Lee Ranaldo tells the BBC they’re also working on a DVD of footage from their recent Daydream Nation tour mixed with vintage clips of the band playing the LP, and added they’ve been digitizing archived audio and video tape, some dating back 30 years, for future releases.
  • First Garth, now B? According to Billboard, Beyoncé may be the next superstar to bring her act to Las Vegas’ Wynn. Spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne says there’s no deal yet; rumors have the star signing a lucrative, long-term contract.
  • Portishead have unveiled a fresh track, called “Chase the Tear,” recorded to benefit Amnesty International, Pitchfork reports.
  • A judge ruled yesterday in the divorce trial of rapper Nas and R&B singer Kelis that the Illmatic architect, who has a child with Kelis, will have to fork over more than $50,000 in monthly spousal and child support payments. In addition, he’s got to pay Kelis’ attorney’s fees, which amount to $46,000 and change, according to TMZ.

  • As Ron Burgundy might say, keep your head on a swivel: there’s mad elements of freedom flying around these Internets today, friends.

Alicia Keys‘ fourth studio platter (Element Of Freedom) is so hotly desired and breathlessly anticipated that a couple jams from the album have already trickled out.

We’ve hipped you to “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart,” and its superhero-themed video. Then yesterday saw the soft release of Keys’ sequel to her and Jay-Z’s chart-buster, “Empire State Of Mind,” with the appropriately titled, “Empire State Of Mind Part II: Broken Down.”

Finally, today, we get two (2!) new jams from the piano woman. The initial tracks we’ve heard from Element… have been a little… what’s the best way to put this… classy? Really regal, soft focus, romantic (perhaps lacking a little bit in the attitude department).

So it’s nice to hear Alicia let her hair down with Beyonce on “Put It In A Love Song.” It’s got a floor-board-shaking beat and some really playful, old school hip-hop interplay between “B. and A.,” as they refer to themselves.

The other Alicia Keys track that popped up is “Unthinkable.” It’s closer to the previously released tracks; soft, relaxed and lovelorn. It also, unofficially, features Grammy-nominated rookie Drake on backing vocals.

+Listen to Alicia Keys’ “Put It In A Love Song,” featuring Beyonce and listen to “Unthinkable” (possibly featuring Drake) here.

Earlier this month, Alicia Keys told Billboard.com that since her album, “The Element of Freedom,” was pushed back from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15, she used the additional time to work on possibly “the most exciting collaborations of my career yet.”

New Music Week Is Coming To MTV

    Author: webc

Spankin’ New Music Week is coming to MTV November 23 through 27. It’s a celebration of five new mega-albums that are all being released in one big mega-week.

Lady Gaga’s dropping The Fame Monster Limited Edition, which if you’re sharp enough you’ve already heard The Fame: Monster on MTV’s The Leak (a whole week early!). Rihanna’s Rated R also hits on Monday and you’ve already seen new videos for “Russian Roulette,” and “Wait Your Turn.” Meanwhile, Shakira’s long-awaited, hotly anticipated She Wolf album drops next week.

Beyonce has the Deluxe Edition of I Am, and on Tuesday, Britney’s releasing the Deluxe Box Edition of The Singles Collection.

So what’s in store? We have interviews with Gaga, Shakira and Rihanna, MTV News sat down with some of the girls as well, and we’ll have performances, videos, and more. It’s an unofficial “ladies week,” but because we’re not biased we’re not forgetting that 50 Cent also recently dropped his fourth LP, Before I Self Destruct and we sat down and talked to him too.

Check in next week for more Spankin’ New stuff on MTV, and, until then, watch Rihanna’s “Wait Your Turn” video.

    Beyonce Video Featuring Lady Gaga

    Author: webc

Throughout her prolific videography, Beyonce’s given you plenty of opportunities to see her at her wildest and most wanton — her brazen “Ring The Alarm” video, her mindblowing dance skills in “Crazy In Love,” “Single Ladies,” and “Get Me Bodied,” and her ironclad sex appeal in her “Sweet Dreams” video, to name a few.

But you’ve never seen a fire like the one Beyonce causes in her brand-new “Video Phone (Extended Remix)” video, in which B’s got guns — and Gaga — blazing. Kids, don’t play with guns unless you’re shooting fashion flames.

Watch Beyonce go fluorescent-futuro beast mode, show off her freaky-deaky Bettie Page side, and get in lockstep with Lady Gaga in a pair of white-hot one-pieces in “Video Phone (Extended Remix),” directed by Hype Williams, who lives up to his name, as always.

Beyonce and Lady Gaga do “Video Phone”

    Author: webc

Good news for those who have completely finished their shot-by-shot analysis of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” video: The video for Beyoncé’s “Video Phone (Remix)” featuring Gaga, off the I Am… Sasha Fierce reissue, was unveiled last night, and like “Bad Romance,” it’s an almost seizure-inducing parade of cinematic homages and wardrobe changes. From the opening shot — a tribute to the classic slow-motion walk in Reservoir Dogs — it’s obvious that “Video Phone” is a clip even our movie critic Peter Travers could love, with references to Flashdance, Grindhouse and Marlon Brando.

Check out Rolling Stone’s collection of Beyoncé photos.

The first half of “Video Phone” finds Beyoncé dancing with camera-headed figures that look like 21st century Residents. At the 2:30 mark, a demure Lady Gaga makes her first appearance, and that’s when the gunplay with large, colorful plastic weapons begins. At times throughout the Hype Williams-directed video, it seems like Beyoncé is emulating Katy Perry — or at least Katy Perry emulating Bettie Page — and M.I.A.

Lady Gaga’s wildest looks: get a look at her most fierce fashion.

As Rolling Stone previously reported, the two divas also collaborated on the track “Telephone” off Gaga’s own The Fame Monster, due out November 23rd. The deluxe Sasha Fierce is scheduled for release the next day, November 24th. It was Gaga overload last night for fans of the “Poker Face” singer: The Haus of Gaga star also appeared on yesterday’s episode of Gossip Girl, performing “Bad Romance.”

Lady Gaga’s The Fame: Monster is still two weeks away, but that hasn’t stopped the new songs attached to this re-issue of The Fame from surfacing.

We’ve heard “Bad Romance,” “Alejandro,” and “Dance In The Dark,” and now comes possibly the mostly hotly anticipated track from The Fame: Monster: “Telephone,” featuring Beyonce.

Now as is sometimes the case with these things, it’s worth noting that this isn’t officially official, though it certainly sounds certified. But it is a follow-up to Beyonce’s “Video Phone (Extended Remix),” which features Gaga and will be featured on Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce deluxe edition.

Both The Fame: Monster and I Am… Sasha Fierce deluxe edition are due out on November 23rd.

    Kanye West’s MTV VMA Blunder

    Author: admin

Kanye-West-Taylor-Swift  KANYE WEST was kicked out of MTV’s Video Music Awards for storming the stage for a rant about an award.

The rapper was ejected from the bash in New York last night after he ran on stage and grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift, who had just been awarded Best Female Video, the very first category of the night.

West ruined her speech by muscling in and declaring to the stunned audience that Beyonce should have won it instead.

Ignoring the boos and jeers, West, who had been seen swigging Hennessy cognac all night, said: “Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you, I’m going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”

During his outburst, the cameras cut to Beyonce who looked shocked and mortified, before panning back to Swift who was left standing speechless in the middle of the stage.

West later apologised on his Twitter page for his outburst, which, according to other guests at the event, left the 19-year-old country star in tears.

He said: “I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom.

“I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment. Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade . . . I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I’m sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologise to Taylor.”

Later, Beyonce picked up the award for Best Video for Single Ladies and invited Swift back on to the stage before hugging her and handing her the microphone, giving her the chance to finish her acceptance speech.

Speaking about the incident with West after the show, Swift said: “I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I’d just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t excited anymore after that.’

And she said she was very grateful to Beyonce for giving up her moment to allow her to speak.

Speaking to MTV, she said: “It was just so wonderful and so incredibly classy of her and just gracious and wonderful to let me say something.

“She’s just been my hero and one of my idols ever since I was little. She’s a great person.”

But other stars that performed at the event and witnessed West’s rant, came out in defence of Swift, includin Pink, who reportedly had to be held back by security as she went to confront him.

On her Twitter page, she wrote: “Kanye West is the biggest piece of sh** on earth. Quote me.

“My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her. Beyonce is a classy lady. I feel for her, too. It’s not her fault at all, and her and Taylor did their thing. And douche bag got kicked out.”

Katy Perry also took Swift’s side and wrote: “F*** u Kanye. It’s like you stepped on a kitten.”
