Florence + The Machine, the recording project of the beguiling Brit artist Florence Welch, has been a Buzzworthy favorite since way back in the heady days of 2008. So we’re positively giddy that she’s this week’s MTV PUSH Artist of the Week.

Evoking the ethereal, enigmatic power of PJ Harvey and Tori Amos, plus pipes easily mistakable for Beth Ditto, Florence + the Machine are still riding high off of their incredibly assured (and aptly titled) debut album, Lungs, while racking up music nominations and awards and spots on it-tours. And if you stopped in your tracks after hearing their ghostly sound on the Eclipse soundtrack, then you probably already know that that was Florence + The Machine’s haunting “Heavy In Your Arms.”

That brightly lit vision above is none other than former child of destiny and current dance floor commander, Kelly Rowland. We’ve been charting her evolution pretty closely over the last few months, as Rowland has emerged out the R&B shadows and become something of dancing queen.

We’ve been enamored with Kelly’s recent collaborations with super producer David Guetta, which have led to the smash “When Love Takes Over” and “Commander.” While we anxiously wait for her new solo to drop, we’ll have to tide ourselves over with these amazing photos.

Here we have a visual buffet of absolutely spiffy pics of the fraternal trio Hanson. I use the word spiffy because it’s a wholesome, fun word and Hanson are a wholesome, fun bunch of guys (in case you missed the last 10 years).

It’s crazy how far Zac, Taylor and Isaac Hanson have come from their “MMMBop” days of world domination. Despite the incomprehensible amount of fame they experienced at a young age, the Hanson brothers seem like really cool, well-adjusted young men, as you can see from this new collection of MTV photos.

Sadly, Hanson decided not to rock their Blues Brothers suits, as they do in their awesome “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’ ” video. But that is a small and petty problem, right?

Despite making hard-rocking yet melodic metal-core music, this Florida band knows how to have a laugh. And that’s exactly what they did during this shoot. Whether it’s a shot of guitarist Kevin Skaff dreaming of a six-string or singer Jeremy McKinnon holding a cartoon microphone, the band doesn’t take itself too seriously.

MTV’s PUSH Artist of the Week is the inimitable, intoxicating La Roux. You’re probably already familiar with the twosome’s severe beauty and alluring, infectious electro-pop. But now it’s time to get to know singer-songwriter Elly Jackson a little more intimately, with these fascinating interview clips.

In the videos below, Elly Jackson talks about being the face (and voice) of La Roux (which, in the studio, functions as the duo of Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid), the history behind her increasingly famous and always fabulous hair, some of her celeb sightings (Jennifer Lopez!) and her biggest musical influences (Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie).

Finally, after all that chatting, it’s time to get back to the music. And we have a great live performance of “Tigerlily,” off La Roux’s dynamite self-titled debut album, for you to watch and rewatch and enjoy.

This week’s MTV PUSH Artist of the Week is The Black Keys, Akron, Ohio’s baddest, bluesiest duo. They only went and made one of 2010’s most head-nodding, foot-stomping, fist-pumping glam/neo-blues/beard-friendly slabs of rock and roll this year — their newest album, Brothers. And if that weren’t enough, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney went and made two of the best videos of the year for the Brothers songs “Next Girl” — featuring a sleazy stuffed dinosaur — and “Tighten Up, which stars a bunch of cheeky kids who beat the tar out of each other. They’ve got Damon Dash’s co-sign, their Blakroc side project saw them collaborate with Jim Jones, RZA and Raekwon (to name just a few hip-hop elite), and if that weren’t enough, their song “Chop and Change” is on the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack.

But before The Black Keys became your favorite band’s favorite band, life was far less cool. See how The Black Keys lived before they were famous, and get a behind-the-scenes look at their “Tighten Up” video, featuring Auerbach’s son. And of course, watch the “Tighten Up” video, too.

The MTV PUSH Artist of the Week is the incomparable French band Phoenix. Their immaculate, perfectly played, emotionally rich pop-rock is some of the most rewarding music being made today. Earlier in the week, we introduced you to the band, found out more about their last album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, and revisited their incredible “MTV Unplugged” performance.

Today we cap off Phoenix’s PUSH week with another batch of videos. First off is an excellent, somewhat plugged version of “1901,” taken from It’s On With Alexa Chung. We then move on to two interview clips, where Phoenix reveal which song they love to cover (Prince’s “Forever In My Life”) and how they’ve improved as musicians over the years.

Grammy-winning French band Phoenix, known for its transcendent lyrics and scholarly themes set to brilliantly lush orchestrations, brought its inimitable brand of aloof-yet-intimate alt-pop to MTV for an exclusive “Unplugged” performance. Set against a strikingly stark, cinematic white backdrop in a New York City studio (the edge of Hell’s Kitchen, to be exact), Phoenix performed an inimitably grand, gripping set to a devoutly rapt audience.

This week’s MTV PUSH Artist of the Week is Miike Snow. With their seamless mix of dance, R&B and pop, Miike Snow have been garnering attention and gaining a gang of new fans. This week, we watched their video for “Animal,” the lead track from their 2009 debut self-titled debut album and their exquisite  live performances from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards after-party.

Now, check out Miike Snow’s performance of “Burial” and “Silvia,” shot in a less traditional environment. Namely, the middle of the woods.

“Silvia” sounds particularly beautiful, with singer Andrew Wyatt’s reverbed and distorted vocals sailing out into the night sky. The band also perform “Burial,” the beautiful crescendo of which is absolutely soul-stirring.

OBVIOUSLY Katy Perry’s now-signature blue hair and Ken Jeong’s dreamy “little tiger snooze” costume were two of the biggest standout style moments from last night’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Those, and the Jersey Shore” girls and Lindsay Lohan, who had on enough metallics to permanently deprogram all of the metal detectors at LAX. But there were also a handful of beauty trends and quirky details that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Nude/Next-To-Nude Lips: Flashy dresses and obviously made-up eyes ruled the Movie Awards red carpet, but bold lips did not. Even Katy Perry followed the “play up ONE thing” rule, offsetting her blue wig with baby pink lips. Audrina Patridge and Stephanie Pratt followed suit, complementing their black-lined eyes with just a trace of neutral gloss. Meanwhile, Jessica Biel took natural glam to even hotter new places.

Pretty Ponytails! Audrina Patridge’s ponytail kept her look fresh and not too overly done. Nicky Hilton’s loosely braided ponytail looked picture-perfect, and Kristen Stewart’s messy-on-purpose ponytail made us fall in love with her all over again.

Katy Perry’s Neon Nails: You may have been too busy noticing Katy Perry’s other … assets… like her BLUE WIG, obviously. But look closely, and Katy pulled off two manis in one night! A super-summery neon yellow for the red carpet, and hot pink during her “California Gurls” performance. That’s a seasoned showbiz pro for you, nailing every last detail.

Heavy Metals: Christina Aguilera’s all about the S&M and freaky-deaky between-the-sheetsies behavior these days. (Don’t believe me? Have you seen this?) So her Versace Atelier chain detail dress was the perfect way to say “I may clean up nicely, but I’m still ready to get ‘Dirrty.’ ” And we also loved Audrina Patridge’s chained-and-cuffed Giuseppe Zanotti spike heels.

This week’s MTV PUSH Artist of the week is two-parts Swedish/one-part American band Miike Snow, master practitioners of just about every genre and pioneers of a brand-new breed of ultra-intelligent pop. Contrary to popular belief, Miike Snow isn’t one guy. It’s a group, made up of singer/songwriter Andrew Wyatt and producers Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg (aka Bloodshy & Avant, producers of Britney Spears‘ “Toxic“). Not that it matters, but we’ll leave it up to you to figure out who’s Swedish and who’s American.

With a brilliantly broad sound that references everything from the avant-folk of Animal Collective to the dirty, stuttering beats of dubstep, Miike Snow’s become a must-hear among music bloggers, cultural tastemakers and even artists like Ke$ha and Adam Lambert.

You may have heard Miike Snow’s self-titled debut album, or heard their remixes for Vampire Weekend, Kings of Leon and Passion Pit. You’ve definitely heard their production work on Britney’s “Toxic.” And if you haven’t heard their gorgeous breakaway hit “Animal,” then get to it.

If you’re planning your next shopping trip according to what tonight’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards performers wore, you might want to pick up some extra batteries. Both stars of Movie Awards’ two performances — Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry — outfitted themselves in blinking lights. (Apparently sequins just don’t cut it anymore!) But who wore light-up clothes better?

In Katy Perry’s case, we already knew she loved the idea of being a walking flashlight. The singer garnered worldwide attention for a light-up dress she wore to a gala in May. So we weren’t surprised when she took the stage wearing a glow-in-dark pink top and blue shorts (for a second it looked like her shoes lit up, too). And just when Katy was thisclose to making light-up garments her signature, Christina Aguilera came along and upped the ante.

Sure, Katy rocked lights all over her body, but Xtina was more selective, and only put the lights on one place … her lady parts! And not just dotted lights either. Christina wore a light-up heart between her legs. And it BLINKED. For us, that makes Christina the winner of this glow-in-the dark face-off, simply due to the fact that if all the power ever mysteriously went out in the Gibson Amphitheater, we could simply rely on Xtina to guide us to safety with her illuminated vag.

BEST DRESSED FASHION DESIGNER NOT WEARING HER OWN DESIGNS: WHITNEY PORT
Whitney Port of The City looked summertime lovely in a beige and yellow dress by Yigal Azrouel. But why didn’t the aspiring fashion designer wear her own line, Whitney Eve? Surely, this would’ve been a perfect chance for her to draw some attention to it, and last time we checked, the Movie Awards isn’t exactly the place to shy away from shameless self-promotion. That said, this dress looks great on her.

BUSTIEST DEBUT: JWOWW
While Whitney didn’t dress in her own line for the red carpet, Jersey Shore’s Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley knew to jump on a good opportunity when it basically Jersey-slapped her in the face. The Jersey Shore star took her moment on the carpet to debut her own fashion line, named Filthy Couture, wearing a pink sparkly mini-dress. At least the name of the line is clear in its intentions.

BEST USE OF KHAKI: T.I.
Usually the men we see wearing this much khaki like to go yachting and play polo. T.I. is not one of those men. What he does with khaki here is what few can do: Make it look, well, cool.

MOST HIDDEN WAISTLINES: EVA MENDES AND AUDRINA PATRIDGE
These ladies have amazing bodies. Sadly for us, they were lost in a sack of sequins.

BEST ILLUSION: AMANDA SEYFRIED
Amanda’s Stella McCartney dress featured lace swatches mixed with nude panels. Look too fast and it may seem like those nude sections are actually skin. Alas, they are not.

MOST LIKELY TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE GUY WHO WORKS AT THE OFFICE SUPPLY STORE: MICHAEL CERA
We’re loving the adorable mis-matching outfit on Mr. Cera. So fitting! The only thing that would make it better is if his pocket had a graphic calculator and three different types of writing utensils in it.

BEST USE OF SPARKLES: JESSICA ALBA
Jessica Alba knows the Golden Rule of Sparkles — that a little bit goes a long way. The shiny tights were just enough, especially since she had so many other great pieces to focus on like the cool necklace, pristine hair, and see-through top.

BEST LBD (LITTLE BLACK DRESS): SANDRA BULLOCK
Wow, Sandra! The actress looked amazing in her super short black number. The deep V in the back added an extra-sexy element to it, prompting Betty White to publicly advise her not to turn the dress around in the future. Does Betty fashion love deserve bonus points? We think so.

RED: Anna Kendrick stepped out in a patterned Zac Posen dress. Miranda Cosgrove looked lovely in Versus. And Lo Bosworth wore a draped pleated gown.

SILVER: Audrina Patridge looked like a walking mirrorball in an asymmetrical sequin-covered mini with matching silver shoes, Katy Perry wore a Zuhair Murad dress with strategically-placed rhinestones (after all, she went braless, as she told Christian Siriano), and Rock & Republic heels. And Lindsay Lohan walked the carpet in a silver Pamella Roland jumpsuit, which covered her SCRAM bracelet.

WHITE: Vanessa Hudgens wore a Jenny Packham dress with Diego Dolcini heels, Paris Hilton went for Blumarine (which she said was one of her favorite designers in the pre-show!), and Katerina Graham rocked a one-shoulder mini with multiple ruffles.

MEN IN TEES: As for the men, some of our favorite boys decided to take a more casual approach with T-shirts. Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both wore V-necks, while Snoop Dogg told the world that “Kobe Is King” with his top.

You THOUGHT that Christina Aguilera’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards medley performance of “Bionic,” “Not Myself Tonight” and “Woohoo,” from her upcoming Bionic album, was all about her still-ill “I-I’m-a-diva” vocals, frenzied stage show, and adult-only innuendo. And you were right. And then this happened.

SURPRISE! This is so just Christina Aguilera’s way of saying she loves you! And that the diminutive diva still has a sense of humor. After all, why else would she STICK A LIGHT-UP HEART RIGHT UP ON HER “WOOHOO”??? It’s like a little knowing wink that assures you that when she’s not changing diapers and doing mommy stuff, Mamaguilera’s hanging out at dance party sex dungeons and wailing from the bottom of her… light-up hoo-ha. She is DEFINITELY not the same girl who once bopped around the Disney Channel in a Scrunchie.
